What is You heard it here first?
You heard it here first is a series where I critique and give my verdict on new cards and decks far earlier than other blogs. They have region restriction and lacking of testing as reasons for not posting while us OTCG players do not.
Dinomists: The Great New Old marvels or fossils that should have stayed underground?

Firstly I would like to thank NeoArkadia from ygorganization for posting these cards.
So firstly lets see what these dinomist cards actually do.

Playstyle
From the card released so far, Dinomist are higher levels pendulum monsters that have field swarming potential and target redirection when in the pendulum. They are water which gives them access to Moray of Greed. Dinomist Charge gives immediate card advantage once activated with opportunity for more if it stays on the field. The second effect of Dinomist Charge works very well with their redirection effect. Overall I would classify them as a swarm deck that works on maintaining field prescene.

Potential downfalls
Dinomist lack field removal and seem to revolve on battle to gain advantage. If you are able to summon a monster with high attack, the deck will begin to struggle. The deck has access to rank 5s but have to go into card disadvantage to potentially go into advantage later on. Seeing as Dinomist pendulum only affect Dinomist cards and xyz material being sent to the grave, I can see a problem with using out of theme xyz.

Verdict
As they stand right now, I think they are a shallow and weak deck. I honestly think they are a weaker version of a Galaxy deck. However it is still early days and its only takes a few cards to push a deck over the edge.
